My name is Martin Young, and I'm a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. I provide counseling and consultation services online—clinical services through Grow Therapy and other services by arrangement.

I've been a counselor since earning my Master’s degree in 1995, primarily in community mental health. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient counseling, inpatient residential programs, and several years managing a Crisis Intervention program. That experience has given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of people facing all kinds of life challenges.

In addition to my clinical work, I’ve increasingly been involved in counselor education and supervision over the past two decades. I’ve largely completed my coursework for an EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision, and I enjoy mentoring newer professionals as they develop their own approach to the work.

My approach to counseling is fundamentally person-centered, but I draw from a wide range of counseling theories and techniques. Much to my amusement, a colleague once described my approach as 'Good counseling—no gimmicks.' That may be a bit concise, but it's really not a bad description!
